A Walk . . .

Our beautiful twins take a significant walk today at 12:30 . . . as they walk across the stage and get their high school diplomas. Unbelievable.

And they are both such beautiful young ladies. How thankful and proud we are!

It just happens so fast . . . Go Sarah! Go Laura! Chase Jesus to the ends of this world!

Weeeeeek . . .

Been an exciting (?) week at the Bradshaw's . . . Cindy went to Hollywood on Monday with her sisters where they went to American Idol live on Tue & Wed nights!

Cindy's sister had won tickets and they had a blast.

Me and the kids survived (on hamburgers and little sleep) and then this afternoon Sarah & I drove to Houston where we picked up Cindy at the airport.

Tomorrow morning Sarah has bunion surgery on both feet here in Houston (Corpus docs referred her here to a specialist).

Please pray for God's provision as the Dr. breaks bones in both feet tomorrow and resets them. She will then be on bed rest for 8-10 days and then off her feet (re: wheel chair) for 6 weeks!

Thankful

We all desire God's best for our children. First for them to walk with Him . . . and to do so with integrity in every area of their life . . .

Thankful for the acknowledgment the girls received this weekend of their diligence and perseverance in soccer . . .

The Caller Times article is here . . . Laura was named All-South Texas Defensive MVP and District 27-5A Defensive MVP. Sarah was named District 27-5A All-District.

Also proud of Luke who is a Freshman and after the Freshman baseball season was over last week was one of a few guys that was brought up to Varsity for the rest of the season and the playoffs.


I pray that they walk in His power with the same dilegence and perseverance.

Unbelievable 18!

It was 18 years ago today I first held their 4-pound little bodies at University Medical Center in Lubbock.
We were in shock and awe! (And don't mention the glasses, I was stylin' back then)

They completely changed our lives. It's difficult to fathom that Sarah & Laura are 18 today.

We just turned around and they have grown into these incredibly beautiful young ladies. And the awesome part is that their beauty is so much deeper than their skin. They both dazzle with their hearts for God.

I'm so proud of them. I'm so thankful to be their Daddy.

Bo & Louda, I love you so very much. Keep walking - no running - with Jesus. Keep loving others. Keep making it count.

Lonely

Saturday night is the HS girls group, so my buddy Luke and I usually hang out.

Not tonight. He ditched me for the homecoming dance.

Wow, it's amazing - just the other day we were playing knee football in the living room.

And here he is tonight with his beautiful sisters.

Lady Black Hawk Power . . . Ouch!

Sarah & Laura are playing on a club soccer team made up of some of the best players in our area.

They went to a tournament in Houston this past weekend and won their games 6-0, 11-0, 3-0 (game shortened) and 6-0 (game shortened again).

26-nil!

The opposing coach at the end of the last game said: 'Thanks for the clinic.'
They've got it going on!

A Last Day One and a First Day One . . .

Time runs quickly. . . .

Incredible that today Sarah & Laura begin their Senior year at King and Luke his Freshman year at King . . . and Emily is at Hardin-Simmons beginning here Junior year of college!!

They change quickly, checking out the post from last years first day of school (click here to see it) Luke has grown about a foot.

I know that God tells us that there is a 'time for everything' - it's just hard to believe that this time next year we will possibly only have one of our awesome kids at home . . .

We just got back late late from the twins first district soccer game in San Antionio.
Yes, this is Cindy & I and we froze our tails off at the game! O' man was it cold and then the second half it decided to start raining/sleeting!

The girls did great and we beat Converse Wagner 6-0!

On The Pitch . . .

We're in Brenham (yes, the home of Blue Bell, but none for us so far) today at Sarah and Laura's soccer tourney.

We tied the first game today 1-1, then lost in pk's (that's penalty kicks for you non-soccer folks). The second game we won 5-1! Laura had a goal and 3 assists and Sarah played great 'D'!

The Carrol Tiger w/Sarah is Cecy Gonzalez who also goes to Oso Creek - if we win in the morning and they win, we would play in the afternoon . . . Go Mustangs!

fiRsT dey of skool

Yesterday was the first day of 8th grade for Luke (big man on campus!) , 11th grade for Sarah & Laura (UPPER classmen!) & Sophomore year at Hardin-Simmons for Emily. (This is Sarah, Luke, Laura and the girls great friend Elle . . . sorry you couldn't be in the pic Mimi)

And the twins drove off to school on their own for the first time . . .

Wow parents it's ABSOLUTELY amazing how fast it goes! Draw on every day . . . it's only 18 or so short years, make every moment count!

4 Kids!

Emily got home last night and it's awesome to have all 4 of our kids back home again!

Lady Hawks!

I was proud of the twins this weekend as their club soccer team went to San Antonio and won the Memorial Day Tournament.

Their club team is a mixture of some of the best high school players from different schools in town - and this was the last hurrah for the seniors (Sarah & Laura are sophomores . . . at least until after today since it's the last day of school!)

Way to go Lady Hawks!

Last night we had the King HS Soccer banquet . . . in addition to their All-District awards that I talked about in a past blog, the girls got two of the five awards that the team voted on.

Sarah got the Most Improved Award and Laura got the Offensive Most Valuable Player.

Way to go girls!

1st Team - Laura Bradshaw (was also 2nd Team All South Texas)
Honorable Mention - Sarah Bradshaw (she didn't even start playing until the 2nd game of district!)

I'm way proud of my girls for using what God has given them and giving their all! Way to go beautiful twins!

Tonight we have our first King HS girls soccer playoff game! We're traveling to San Antonio to play San Antonio O'Connor.

I never thought I would have more fun watching my kids play than I did playing -- but it is a blast. I'll update you tomorrow . . .

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL!!!!!!

Wow, we had an exciting soccer game last night! We are in first in district and played Victoria who is in second, but if we lost we would virtually be in a three-way tie with them and Carroll (who we lost to last Friday for our first loss of the year).

The first half we played terrible and at half were losing 2-0. Now, for those of you who are not soccer fans, that's like being down 28-0 in football (especially as flat as we were).

THEN, in a 10-minute span in the second half our Laura scored 3 times - a hat trick! - and we won 3-2!

And what was really cool is that Sarah started for the first time and played the entire game and played awesome! It was a proud and exciting night for us at Cabaniss Field!

Guts!

I'm so proud of our girls King HS Soccer Team . . . we just finished the first half of district undefeated (6-0)! But so much of what we have done is on pure guts/courage (which has been sparked by great coaching by Jorge Garcia).

We beat all three of the other best teams by one goal --- against Victoria we scored with 20 seconds left to win 1-0. Against our rival Carroll we scored early and then held them off to win 1-0.

And then last night against San Antonio Southwest may have been the best.

A little background - in the Victoria game we lost our playmaker forward for the year with a torn acl. Then last night with 10-minutes left in the game (which was more like a war of attrition) we lost our best defender (Megan Escobar who was the Area Defensive Player of the Year last year) with an ankle injury. Then a couple of minutes later we lost another defensive starter to an injury.

Because of the injuries and her skills, Laura has been moving back and forth between offense and defense. When we lost our main defender, Laura came back from forward to play that position and Sarah (who just came out three weeks ago!) was playing beside her on the strong side.

One of our awesome mid-fielders (Gabby Perales . . . FYI, I'm putting these girls names in here just in case some of you know them and want to give them a high five!) broke through their defense and just willed a goal in with 6 minutes left . . . and then for the last 6 minutes our girls gutted out their assault on our goal (with Sarah and Laura both making some awesome plays!) and we won!

Quite honestly, a couple of those teams probably have more overall talent than us (and even more so after the injuries!) . . . BUT life is all about how faithfully and passionately you use what you've been given! And it's so awesome to watch a group of young ladies who have worked so hard and are coached so well, courageously play with all their hearts!

Soccer Twins!

Last night Sarah & Laura played together for the first time in a High School Varsity game!

Sarah didn't play soccer last year (and had not intended to do so this year) but the soccer coach heard she had played and asked her to come and work out a couple of times after basketball. She did and he put her on the Varsity!

Last night they both played as we beat San Antonio Highlands 4-2. They are doing awesome . . . so far we are 3-0 in district . . . Go Lady Mustangs!
