This is the last week of the Elephants in the Church series . . . This has been an awesome series and this last week I'm gonna tackle this: 'Is God Green?'

Thanks to my good friend Dan who served us in an awesome way yesterday as he filled in for me and hit it out of the park!
He encouraged us to 'hang tough' and keep our hearts and minds focused on our future and the reward that God promises in eternity. I could hear that every week. (Minus the snot! OK, you had to be there!)

I've really enjoyed the Elephants and gotten a lot of great feedback. I can see us talking about other 'Elephants' in the future and so I've got a question for you while it's on our minds . . .

The Sex Elephant

Yep, that's our subject for Sunday (and OK, maybe a pink elephant isn't sexy to you, but maybe it is to an elephant!) . . . and I won't be holding back . . .
Parents, just so you'll know, I'm gonna cover it with grace and truth.

So, it's a great conversation starter to invite your friends this week as you tell them that your pastor is going to talk about how God says sex is good :)

Got Group?

As you've heard me say many times, we believe that God designed us in a way that spiritual life transformation happens in groups.

These relationships are the vessel that we journey in.

Our Life Groups seek to be that vessel.

As I've talked about over the last few weeks, I want to challenge you if you are not in a group to check one out.
I want to challenge to take the 7-week test (after all 7 is the perfect biblical number :)

This week as I begin a new series on Elephants in the Church, I want to challenge you to find a group during this series and see how God uses that group in your life during those 7 weeks.

On Sunday after Celebration you'll be given a chance to join a group. I encourage you to 'go for it!' Get a group. Find some new life.

The Elephants are Coming!

Next Sunday - Sept 28th - we'll begin a New Series --- Elephants in the Church . . . and we'll be talking about what we don't talk about in Church!

Week 1 will be The Elephant on the Fence . . . the life of hypocrisy . . .

This will be a great series to bring your friends to who think that church isn't about real life --- I'll be talking about politics, sex, the environment, death, money and segregation in weeks to come!

ONE MONTH!

One month from today we begin the Safari!

On September 20th we'll launch a catalytic event! A catalyst is a 'change agent' --- something that helps cause change to happen.

The Safari on September 20th is just the beginning of the adventure.

We're asking you to begin praying NOW for friends, neighbors, co-workers that you're going to invite to this Saturday event.
The event itself (which we'll unfold more of soon) is designed to bless our community, help us build life-changing friendships, and be a blast!

But the event is just the beginning!

That week I will begin a new series on Sunday called: Elephants in the Church -- What We Don't Talk About at Church. For 6 weeks I'm gonnna hit hard subjects people are talking about like politics, sex and the environment.

And that week we're also going to be launching New Groups -- and asking everyone to find a group and to check it out for those 6 weeks.


And all of those are just the catalysts! You know folks God calls us to run hard. Not to be comfortable, but to be dangerous!

I'm praying that as we give ourselves away there will be changed lives -- People connected and re-connected to God. And that as we push forward and navigate God's next steps in our future we will discover new mission and adventures!

I'm praying that you will get on board and go for it with me!
